Dear FGSD families,
As the days start getting shorter and the weather begins to change, we will begin to spend more time inside rather than outside. As it is our overarching goal to keep our schools open for in-person instruction the entire school year, we encourage everyone to be vigilant in following our layered safety protocols. The more focused we are now on health and safety protocols and communication, the better we can navigate this next season together.
In other news, the district is in need of additional substitutes for all grade levels. Being a substitute teacher, instructional assistant or helping out in the main office is a great way to make a difference in our community. We are in incredible need to fill these positions. These jobs directly help out students and can provide a flexible work schedule for those who are interested. Food Pantries
The FGHS Food Pantry is open on Mondays from 4-5:30pm. It is in its new location in front of the school by the Basinski Center. Additionally, there is a weekly food pantry located at NAMS each Friday at 3:45pm - 5:45pm.
Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15 to October 15 is National Hispanic American Heritage Month, where we take time to recognize the achievements and contributions of generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. Do you drive, walk, roll, bike or catch the bus on TV Highway (Oregon Highway 8 ) in East Forest Grove? The City of Forest Grove and Oregon Department of Transportation have several ideas like crosswalks, lighting and more to make it safer and more comfortable for everyone travelling on TV Highway.
